Matalco is committed to utilizing the most environmentally-sound manufacturing processes available, employing only modern equipment and technology. Key to Matalco's production process is the filtering and recycling of water, avoiding contamination of the surrounding water table. Matalco’s new furnaces are so efficient that virtually no waste is produced. The normal byproduct of a remelt process, the dross, is sold to other recycler to be processed for reuse. Matalco has already achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for its quality processes, and will pursue 14001 certification for environmental assurance. Matalco is determined to maintain its stringent environmental standards today and well into the future.
